I second that, i told my wife id be going through every tank, humvee and 2.5 or 5 ton truck i found. Hell i would have started up the tank and just run down those walkers. Even a humvee would do that nicely

Ditto what towboater said as far as what ammo will be the most available. But I have decided that the more guns I have in different calibers the better my chances of finding ammo for one of my guns will be. So now I have an excuse to try and buy one of just about everything.

Who knows I might even stumble across some oddball old Winchester rounds and therefore I should have a few of those Winchesters around just in case? Of course I could use that money and just buy ammo for what I already have.

22lr with suppressor. ruger mark 3 and the silencerco sparrow are excellent. ive got 3000 rounds without lube or cleaning through the mark3 so far. the suppressor i clean every 1k rounds.

a good suppressed 22lr will let you get more guns ammo or food as needed.

if i had to pick just one to start with this would be the one. less noise signature than a crossbow. can easily pack several hundred rounds in pre loaded mags. more than enough firepower to blast through a small horde of undead.

I want a supressed 22lr. All I have to do is pay the atf $200? Is that right? Who sells supressors?

depends on your state. only 6 or 7 states outright ban them.

there is paperwork involved the 200$ tax tamp plus the cost of the suppressor. wait time begining to end is typically 4-6 months.

I honestly would pack my ak47. Even though I do love my m40 with us optics scope Why hasnt anyone said a 20 gauge shotgun? I sure would hate to shoot a 12 gauge all day.

Signing out, Alpha1victor.

That suppressor is just cool. How often do you have to pay the $200 fee?

I am thinking 22lr is pretty hard to beat for portability. If you need something for self defense, 16 rounds of anything is going to mess somebody up.

I normally carry a real caliber for SD. But we are not talking about normal situations are we?

One time only. If you lose the stamp they send you get to pay another 200$ for a new. I keep my actual stamps in a safety deposit box and carry copies with the suppressors.

That, i would think for most people well versed in firearms anything is pretty OK. Trying to shoot a 12g all day let alone slugs is going to be a task. To me, even in HD or "base defense" a distance round would suit better than shotgun. If you can post up by a window and hit 20+ yards prior to them seeing you that's total victory and the bodies would leave a message for others.
The shotgun in think is good have next to you if you hear a noise, some one gets by, multiple people trying to breach. But if you rely on a shotgun for when people enter, you are decreasing your odds right away. Getting the "drop" on someone will result in victory more times that not.
