Everytime ive bought ammo in bulk its been a private party buy.

Got 6 boxes of 230 gr full metal jacket .45 acp from a state trooper i know. 50 bucks

Another time i got 400 rounds 5.56mm xm193 from my wifes uncle.

I usually get my ammo from the sportsmans guide. They have fair prices. I can always find a $10 coupon or free shipping. Sometimes I get both free shipping and $10 off. I have found ammo cheaper in other places after the discounts but very seldom.
