You may want to try a company out of Florida for some of the least expensive solar panels out there.
The also have information on all sorts of alternative power.
The site is at http://www.sunelec.com/

I dunno, I went with a company that got hundreds of millions in one-time stimulus money by this Administration (which they then built in to their annual budget they never actually submit to Congress). Solyndra. What could be safer? But I haven't gotten my order and they aren't returning my calls...

What I need the batteries for is my wife's oxigen condenser. A generator could work the problem is she could not work it if I am not home. With havering a battery system she could have power till I get home. Will need to run 600 wots.

600 watts is 50 amps on the 12 volt side. Maybe 1 to 1-1/2 hours run time per fair sized deep cycle battery.

Your concentrator runs on AC, right? You will need an inverter to change DC in the batteries to AC- and 600 watts is a pretty stiff continuous draw. Since there are losses from the inverter, as the man said- about 1 to 1.5 hrs off a typical Marine deep cycle battery that is FULLY charged (don't even think about a car battery). You may be better off with a decent sized oxygen tank for emergency use.
