I am working on an article about uses for bacon grease, in a sustainable living type of situation. I'd like to have 5 - 10 uses for it that don't include it's use as a food or flavoring.

What I've come up with so far is:

1. Candle Making
2. Soap Making
3. Soaking tender (ie. dryer lint) in it to make it easier to ignite.

I am hoping for two things out of this post:

I would like to know how many of you read this magazine or have even heard of it (just out of curiosity).

And, I would like some suggestions for uses of bacon grease (other than food or flavoring), which I will research about and include in the article I want to write.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I use bacon grease for catfish attractant, and coyote bait when I trap.

I use bacon grease here in the suburbs all the time. I live on a corner lot
and some of my neighbors, when walking their dogs, let fido do their business
in my yard. After they leave I pour bacon grease on the poop. The next day when they come back old rover helps himself and my yard gets cleaned up
every time. One dude accused me of hanky panky and I told him how well trained his dog was to clean up after himself and he wanted to fight about it. Go figure.
