Is that a Maxpedition bag, TH? Good stuff!

If you want a compact, inexpensive .22 rifle, the AR7 is OK. A Marlin Papoose is probably a more reliable choice.

From what I have read and heard some have rather questionable reliability. Could have been just a couple bad eggs but it was enough for me to think about other .22s for BOB

I have a AR-7 silver made by Henry repeating arms. I keep mine in my ready bag with a few box's of ammo . I also take it to the range as often as I can along with my Muzzle loaders and I have fired alot of rounds thru it and it has had a few stove pipes ( cartridge jams ) but it is a very good take down rifle and is pretty accurate out to 25 to 40 yards. it is a small game getter like rabbits and such.. I have taken this rifle along on many back country trips No it isnt a great self defense weapon but it wasnt made for that .... but in a situation it sure beats the heck out of a rock any day LOL but like I said it is a great little survival rifle ....
