Default Any truth behind zero point energy?

I've been looking for ways to lower the electric bill when I came across this: http:

Has anyone seen this? Their webite has been "undergoing reconstruction" since last summer.

No truth so far. If you stumble on something that works, please let the planet know.

TANSTAAFL

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

You cannot take out energy that you did not put in, in some form.

Default Free lunch??

Ditto the two comments above.

I am, at least by education, a physicist. I spend my days running a lab where we burn and break things. It's actually fun to get paid doing things that normal people get tossed in the slammer for doing.

That aside, there is no way to create energy from nothing. The US Patent Office will not even accept an application for anything that looks like the ol "perpetual motion" machine.

Why? It simply doesn"t work. Period. End of story.

This reminds me of the cold fusion story from a few decades ago. Great theory, great hope, promise of a "new realm" of physics. Believe it or not, the theory here was more plausible than the one prsented in the video.

In the rush to fame every one overlooked one small problem. If it actually had worked as described, they should have been dead. No neutrons released in the experiment, which kept them alive, meant there was no fusion.

The promise of free energy is an age old scam.

The guy up there^ said it much better than I did. Free energy is not worth what you paid for it. Ever notice that everyone with a "free energy" solution wants MONEY?

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if it turns out this is is the real thing.

I don't think it is though.

I like to keep an open mind when it comes to alterative energy. I don't think that you can get energy from nothing, but you can get close to "free" energy with things like solar panels, although they are expensive.

However, average Joe garage inventors are steadily coming up with new ideas for more efficient energy. Want your car to run on water? Go to Youtube and look up "HHO Generator".

Producing more power than it consumes is simply not possible. It's never been done and if it ever was it would shake the foundations of Science.

I guess that'll explain the lack of a working website.
