One more point you say there's a lack of ammo for this cal gun . It can be reloaded with .308 diameter bullets . So reloading would not be real hard to do . I know about ten people who own one of these guns and the number is growing. and lots of people buying more.

Look, I am not a cheap comblock defender by any stretch so when I say that, for the money, presuming you have a decent enough gun and ammo, and can use them similarly, you are a responsible, prepared, man. Not as well as some perhaps, by some measures, but better than many if not most citizens. After this case of ammo consider a spare parts kit.

OK, you may not have won some race, however, personally, I'd say that .22 Mag saw you over the finish line. After that it was arguably a question of degrees.

Are there better options? Don't worry about it brother...

Those guns were made out of machined steel and are as tough as nails (or maybe even a hammer). What else could you ask for or want if the SHTF? That would be a desirable gun to have even if money weren't a consideration.

Well, I don't necessarily agree that anybody would want a Mosin Nagant given the choice. By way of example they don't make them anymore and someone new to this knew enough to question its usefulness when it matters. What more could one ask?

Accuracy, rate of fire, speed to reload, controlability, low recoil, light weight, short length, balance, reliability, light ammunition, replenishable ammunition, inexpensive modern ammunition, ammunition that won't be obsolete in a generation, non-corrosive surplus, incalculable options, made in America, well made, new, warrantee, bragging rights... Someone else can finish for me please.
