Im gonna go against the grain and say kel-tec s2k,but in 9mm. I don't have a handgun in .40. Reasons? It folds up,can be put in a case, and is more likely to be kept in the truck and be overlooked by theifs and police during traffic stops. It takes 33rd mags and can be concealed,I don't think you want to be that Guy walking down the street with a shotgun plain as day when the whole city is rioting or when the shtf. I'd just want to skirt the trouble areas and get home without incident, and I think the kel-tec wouldn't draw as much attention and can be hidden but still has plenty of firepower for urban domestic disputes.

I think just the opposite with a folding stock on a 12. Easy to slip out of the way, but full stock when you have room to deploy it. I've been keeping my eye out for a low priced 870 already well broken in to change the barrel and stock on for this purpose. I have a Stoeger auto defense in the house, but I don't think anyone makes a folding stock for it.

Since you are looking at folders you could just go with a Kel Tek SU16C and use 30 round mags.

Correction, it can chamber 3" shells as well. Sometimes I like being wrong

No shotgunner is really using 3" shells for almost any application in this regard in any case. There are actually 2-3/4" Magnum (12 pellet) 00 if you really feel compelled...

As for which gun? I like the shotgun but would be as comfortable with a .40 carbine. Maybe more comfortable. My truck gun is a takedown customized .22 Mag pump but my focus isn't as specific as yours.

By the way, accordingly, I did not vote.

Do you have a link to the list?
