Survive? I understand your plan is to live like an abused prisoner of war or a farm-laboring serf in a corrupt third world nation. That's brilliant. To each his own. I concede that's not my intention at all. In fact...

My objective is precisely not to live like that under any circumstances!

Mine too. But I'm prepared if it comes to that.

I have canned hams, venison jerky, dried sausages, sardines, dried fruit, a several month supply of canned fruit and veggies, dried fruit and veggies, every spice and seasoning you can think of and two weeks of MRE, before I need to break into the beans. cornmeal, wheat, rice etc.

Also have a backup generator with spare parts and 2 weeks supply of diesel (55 gallons) to keep the freezer going. and usually have at least 30 gallons of diesel in the truck that could be siphoned if necessary to run the generator another week+ if needed.

locutus, why not an LP generator, and a 1000 gal tank? No worries about fuel storage, and that'd provide MUCH more than 3 weeks running time....

Lou.......The gas is probably due to your poor diet!

It is intentional. I have a 1,000 gallon methane tank. But I'm rethinking this as collecting it is hell...
