Has any forum member used and recovered a bullet from a Winchester 180 grn Nosler Partition? I am interested only in a bullet that has been taken from a downed animal. I am curious of its penatration in live tissue and its expansion.

You may just have to try them to see. I have use both 180gr hc and 180gr speer sp bullets. They no longer make it but have a 170gr DC sp bullet. Both were used on hogs and the sp on deer. We all know what the hc will pass thru , but the sp were very impressive with broken onside shoulders and found in the other shoulder both times with expantion that was right at double but with jacket seperation. No so with the new DC sp. They may be worth checking in to. Allways hated rifle partitions so I would not use tham in a pistol! I do use noslers sp in a 44mag load that also work extremely well but with my loads they have been pass thru shots. Good luck
