I have taken three deer so for this season, two bucks and a doe. None of the three are anything to brag about but they all will taste good. The last month of the season I intend to concentrate on trying to get one of the eight pointers I have gotten on my game cameras.

This was the first one. He didn't break an antler, they grew that way. It was probably a good thing to take him out of the gene pool.


This was the second one. He did break off an antler. When I shot him I thought I was shooting a four or six pointer. Actually if you count the one inch stub left where he broke off the left antler, he was a three point.


This doe was the third one. I had five does in front of me at about 75 yards. I picked the biggest one and shot it.


This is one I hope to get.

I got a nice little 5 poin buck opening day of riffle seasion. I had taken 2 weeks off of work so I had a lot of spare time tto kill after that It was a bout a mile and half drag by myself but it only weighed 150 lbs gutted so it wasnt to bad.
I took a week off for a controled hunt Muzzel loader hunt and droped a nice little 4 point at about 9 opening morning. It took four of us changing up about anhour and a half to drag that one to the truck.
So I figure I had a preaty good seasion.
The first one I shot with my SKS and it went about 40 yards. the other one I shot with my .54 cal Lyman Great Planes Riffle and droped him in his tracks.

I harvested this 7pt buck on 11/13/2011 @ 5pm. Marlin .30-30 with Skinner peep sights @ 75 yards.

We're taking my friend's son on the youth hunt this weekend. I hope he gets one.

Iv killed 3 does w my bow, 3 does with rifle, a spike with rifle, a doe w my 1911 and a button buck w my t/c contender .54 cal. Except the spike and one doe all where within 5-75 yards. Spike was at 200 yards chasin a yearlin doe. Shot her w my newish marlin x7 270 with a 135 barnes ballistic dropping her in her tracks w a high double lung nicking her spine. By the time she hit the ground and i had a new round in chamber the spike was on her so i neck shot him dropping him on the doe. The spikes where a whole whopping 2".

I know its a gun site but this was a bow kill. Shot earlier this year. Ive been seeing a ton of deer up my way in VA. watched two monsters about 30 min yesterday. a ten and an eight. The ten was easy 140 class deer. bad part about bow hunting. he never came any where even close enough to attempt a shot.
