What is in your hunting pack?
Ok so I am getting ready for a hunt this week sometime. Might be tomorrow morning. Might be Friday morning. I dunno.
Right now
Blaze Orange Vest
Kershaw OSO Sweet knife
Mora fixed blade knife
Lighter
Food
Shooting sticks
Water
extra jacket
20' of 550 cord
2 boxes of slugs
Garmin Colorado 300 GPS
Cell Phone
Gloves
Rubber gloves
Whats in yours and what do you think I am missing? I don't need a map where I am going as it is only 200 acres and I am hunting close to cleared area of park.

I think you've covered all bases and are GTG Tango.. Only thing I can think of is a torch and maybe an extra pair of socks. Good luck!

compass and a map of the area. gps can fail or get crushed. magnesium fire starter stick. lighters dont work when wet or coverede in blood.
i always take basic stuff even if i know the area. basic first aid kit with pressure bandage is also handy.

You carry more then I do but I'm always within walking distance of safety and cell phones don't work. We do have radios for everyone and one for someone in the cabin that stays on at all times so you can always reach someone.
I typically carry water, a little food, knife, length of rope, an extra hat, gloves and socks. A lighter would be a good addition. I think a lot of good info will come from this thread.

Ok I am not hunting out in the middle of nowhere. This is a small (200 acres) that is bordered on 2 sides by major roads and 2 sides are bordered by houses. The area I am hunting will be right behind the second (Small) pond. Aprox 100 yards or so in to the woods. I don't even need a GPS I am just taking it so if I do happen to killt a deer I can mark it. There is good cell service on the property and someone is always on the property.

I think you're good to go. I don't own a GPS but using one to mark a kill would be handy if it was hard to find or way out. What are you hunting?

The only thing in mine that you don't have on your list is rope.
