The French lost over 50,000 men before Dunkirk. I'd fight with a French soldier anyday!! What an ass! JP

Second rifle from bottom is a 1945 MAS1936. The 7.5x54 cartridge was the model for the .308 as was the 7.5x55 Swiss. They are both .308. Bottom rifle is a Swiss K31

So, there are two tanks approaching each other in1943 in an Alps mountain pass.

The Italian tank crew jumps out and surrenders, the Germans respond with a volley of machine gun fire and accept the Italian's surrender.

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

just got back from a hunting trip in south texas. took my winchester model 70 super express in .458 winmag. 350grn round nose soft point bullet at 2000fps. drops them where they stand. nice neat .45caliber in one side and a nice neat .45 caliber hole in the other side. destroys the heart and lungs leaving all the meat alone. ive never had to chase a deer. works on moose, elk, bear, coyote, and hogs. been using it for hunting since 1986. i get lots of funny looks but im not the one tracking a lost animal.

the load i use has about the same recoil as a 3inch magnum shotgun slug with much less meat damage.

originally i wanted a .45-70 but couldnt find it in a rifle i liked. i looked around at the time for another .45caliber rifle cartridge and they were few of em back in the 80's. i just like .45cal a lot. i settled on the .458 and learned to handload for it. it got me into handloading opening up a whole wide array of bullets and shooting.

the .458 may not be for everyone but my model 70 i have hunted and shot target with it for the last 23 years. its by far my most favorite rifle.

the most common comment i get from people is "that thing will blow the deer up why are you using it!!!" the only thing it blows up is the contents of the chest cavity of the game i am after. there is no big entry hole or big exit wound. its a great deer rifle.

as for what it says about me?? i dont really know. i am just a huge fan of big slow bullets. .45caliber be it in a pistol or a rifle has always been my favorite caliber.

Default What your deer rifle say's about you

Oh I just have to jump into this one…. OK: A Remington Model 788 in 358 Winchester 19 ½ “ Barrel (Douglas XX 1-14) Fully fiberglass bedded & reinforced wood stock (Birch) cut to 13 ½ inches, toped with a Tasco World Class 2.5X10X50MM “have never had to take a second shot, nor ever track anything I’ve shot as of date. One shot one kill; her name is “baby” she’s my favorite when I’m serious about bring home the meat.

Early Model 700 LH .30-06 with Millet TRS-1 Scope. It is efficient and ready for what comes.
