Elk: wish I could draw a tag
Deer: 7mm-08 - 7mm rem mag - 7.62X39 - .50 cal. black powder - all depends wich stand I am in and/or trophy buck hunting or just shooting a doe for the table/ and legal season
Hog: either 7mm
Yotes: .17 HMR - 6.8 rem - 7mm-08 Just depends on what I feel like that day!

Once in a blue moon .357 in a Colt trooper for hogs

have a chance to help a farmer out with doe depervation tags - will be using 7.62X39 because of ammo cost. The little CZ carbine is going to get heated up!!

Mule deer and Pronghorn--270 Win and 308 Norma Mag
Elk--270 Win, 308 Norma Mag,and 340 Weatherby

Never shot a pig but if I would hunt them it would be with the 270 Win.
I dont know what I will use untill about a month befor big game hunting season. Spend the summer shooting prairie dogs. All my rifles are tuned up and have developed reloades for my rifles, all I have to do is test fire them off a bench rest befor going hunting.
When I carry a hand gun its a 4 inch barrel S&W 357 Mag.

Deer- Rifle: my new to me .308 that i just got. Handgun: .44 Magnum super blackhawk as always

Elk- Rifle: .308 as well, sometimes .45/70 lever Handgun: .44 Magnum super blackhawk of course.

Boar- Rifle: Romanian AK-47 as usual. I feel much more comfortable with a semi, then a bolt for this feisty buggers. Handgun: Either .44 magnum super redhawk or my RIA 1911...

thats what i use baby!

Deer - 30-06/ sidearm 45 or 357
Turkey - 12ga/sidearm 45 or 357
Elk - still working on that hunt

I wish I could carry a sidearm during bow season but here in NC it's not allowed. You can carry a 22 but I don't have one nor would I want to carry that. A run in with the man would ruin a good day hunting fast and there is no point in arguing. What those guys say, goes.

Defaultrifle/handgun choice?

In California my Win 30-30 was my weapon of choice w/o a handgun...but
sometimes my old Luger 9mm. I still use the 30-30 for deer sometimes, but my
first choice is my Win mdl 70 in .308 & my (old original Hi-point .9mm compact
handgun)..."before they became a junk-gun"! (The originals were & are one
of the most dependable handguns for the price back then)! Mine fits my hand
so well that I can fire "3-shot bursts" with it & stay on target soo well that
"it turns heads everytime"...(where rapid-fire is allowed)! My old h/p will likely
be my forever hunting sidearm as it has never failed me & even survived the
"dropped in the mud test once" to kill a deer that I had shot in the spine &
thought dead, but awoke when I tried to field dress it!

Muzzleloading season it will be the little .40 caliber longrifle or the .54 Hawken.
Rifle season it'll be the 45-70, 45-60 or the bolt-action 30-30.
No sidearms.
