You do have a bit of a problem in basic choice. A good break down recurve is the easest to pack BUT a compound is sooooo simple to learn how to shot with. Also a compaound is way faster at arrow speeds for hunting at over 280fps is common today. Try to find a good bow shop around you and let the guys there show you the difference and go from there. I have seen brand new bow shooter kill deer with in a couple hours of shooting a compound bow for the very first time but this lady is a very good hunter in general. Not easy to do with a recurve or long bow. I have used a compound for almost 26 years and tried recurves on and off and just find them above my skill level or I am not willing to put in the time needed to be good with them.
