Took out a canadian goose by mistake one time , well it did not kill it 1st time but I was well over 150yrds , sent the dogs out after it and put it down shortly after . I was aiming at a stump in the swamp and he must been nesting right by it . Still an impressive crack shot in my book

An opossum. Thought the thing had rabies. It was walking around in circles and acting odd. Didn't play dead like I've had them do around my dogs. I've seen a field rat do the same thing. Shot it too. Called the animal control to report it. He wasn't concerned. He said if it were a cat or fox yes but opossums don't get rabies. I researched it the next day and sure enough only a few cases confirmed. Their blood is to cold to contract it.

.22 shorts, body contact, no silencer needed, two shooters, empty the mags. You won't hear it in the next room. Say goodnight Alice, Dr. Kildare couldn't couldn't patch all the holes.

We butchered a goat and used a 22lr pistol to put it down. In a survival situation I would use a 22lr to take any game that I needed.

Biggest rimfire kills have been larger coons and chucks.

BTW,

.22 shorts are loud enough to hear next room.
CB's are loud enough too, but way more quiet.

To the ignorant ear it might be heard, but not recognized as gunfire.
But even my ol' lady knows when CB's are popped from the kitchen window at varmints.

The state of Lousiania allows the harvesting of white tail deer with a .22 LR
I have taken deer with a ruger 10-22 when I lived down there.
