DefaultIs there a Line Between "Hunting" and "Extermination"

My wife's gardens has been overrun all year with rabbits. In fact, the entire city has them all over the place. I've never seen so many in my life.

Went to a BBQ at a friends house last Saturday and he went to show me his garden. Right in the middle of the plot we see ugly little mole-type head pop out. It ended up being a baby rabbit...then we notice the entire ground was moving like in some horror film. Mamma rabbit decided to set up camp right in the middle of the garden.

Anyway...here in Michigan what's the difference between shooting these things as pests vs. shooting them for hunting? If I'm in the clear I'd like to pick up a pellet gun to address this problem.

As far as I'm concerned if they are in my garden they need to go. They are taking food away from me and my family when they could be providing food. I don't know what Michigan has to say about it but those are my thoughts.

Here in Texas there is no closed season on rabbits, IIRC. What is it in MI?

In Alabama if a rabbit is in the garden then I consider them meat to go with vegetables.

I get a kick out of shooting armadillos in my pasture where they dig holes in my pasture where I keep horses. Somebody has to feed the buzzards. I wish I could render them extinct.
