Default Successful visit to Wyoming

Picture of the Merriam's Turkey I took near Hulett, WY. 19 lbs, 9 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs. Tom's were henned up Saturday, ambushed this bad boy while the flock was making its evening feed before going to roost.

Were you shooting a rifle or a shotgun? I never cared for shotguns on turkey. I used a .222. for a time later a .22 Mag. I use a flintlock rifle these days. Nice old bird.

Shotgun, 3.5 inch 12 ga. Federal #4 shot.
