It depends, what are you hunting? What rifle are you hunting with?

If zombies are the target then yes.

Sent from a Droid...but not the Droid you are looking for. Move along.

For a strictly hunting rifle? No, not really.

For hunting anything "else" - absolutely.

Absolutely!

No muffs for target/plinking. When hunting, you get more shots before spookingthe game.

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?

Some states its illegal ro hunt with one period. Some only nuisance animals. Some no restrictions. Check your local game laws

You really need to learn to shoot!!! Never been hunting Ehh!
Game animals are 100% tuned to their environment, they know what sounds should be there, and those that are foreign. A suppressor will not help at all.

BTW WA, I like Muff!

J, yes your right on game being attuned to their surroundings, but just like people, there are idiot animals in abundance. My uncle managed to empty his Marlin 336 at a deer, never hit him, the deer looked right at him and didn't even bother to run away until he started reloading. I still give him hell for that episode.

While the terms silencer and suppressor are both used, with VERY few exceptions, NOTHING will truly silence a highpowered rifle. You can SUPPRESS some of the noise from the muzzle blast, but any bullet traveling over the speed of sound makes a high pitched KER-RACK (sonic boom)

To own a suppressor in the US, you must be 21, legally able to own a gun, live in a state where you can own a suppressor, and have registered it with the BATFE, and paid the $200 tax on the transfer.
