Default Red Fox

We have 2 red fox wandering my neighborhood. In the middle of the day! Yesterday one was cleaning itself on my neighbors side yard at 5pm.
Fish and game has been around for the last few weeks. The problem is you can't shoot them or trap them because it is a suburban area. Now if I could only get them to cross the road it changes everything. 80 acres of woods. I could always let my Fox hound loose on them, she'd make short work of them. Sadly, I'm sure someone would report my dog killing them. Can't even use a bow. The police consider that discharging a firearm. What to do??

I would keep a close eye on them. Can you not set a trap in your own yard? If fish and game are watching them you would think they could trap and relocate them.

My yard has a 6ft stockade fence around it. They can sense my dog and avoid my house.

Why do you need to do anything? Leave them alone. They will help keep the rodent population down.

How the hell do they rationalize that one?

So do all the other critters in the animal kingdom including feral cats.

Default Live traps work very well...

In the right place! When I had the misfortune of having a pair of "mentally
challenged" folks rent the property behind mine & turn it into an illegal cat
shelter & let the "hoard have free run on our area" when those of us were
away at work to spread fleas in an area that never had fleas...(I did my part
to "convince them to move")! They moved away to a more rural area &
expanded their operations enough to become "the worst case of cat hoarders
in Idaho state history"! (A raccoon trap works very well)!
