Ready for Saturday-Rifle Season Opens
I'm headed to my lease tomorrow.I've had several nice deer in the area the last couple months, but last week when I checked the game cams I only had a couple young bucks and a few does/fawns on film around the feeders.
Hopefully the big 10pt and a big wide 8pt show up the next week, and they'll find out just what the price of eating all that corn cost.
We're going to go to a friends ranch about 30 miles away at night and try to get a few hogs while I'm up there.

Muzzle loader opened last weekend but since I don't own one I've been using my bow. Rifle season starts next weekend here and the 30-06 is ready.

Well my cousin and I didn't see anything opening morning, but heard several shots around the area from other hunters.
We went back out about 4:30pm,and right when it was getting dark a young doe came at a full run across the pasture and right past my cousins blind. He thought it was a grown doe,and nailed her in the neck with my 308.
We're processing it right now.
Looks like we're having tenderloin and eggs in the morning.
Hopefully the deer will come back on our lease soon,I've spent quite a bit of time/money this year getting things set up,and it sucks that all the deer have moved in the last couple weeks.
Sorry,no pics but it was dark, and we had to gut/skin and quarter it with the headlights of my truck.
