Yes you can shoot Foster type slugs through your field barrel but not sabots. Improved Cylinder would be the best choke to use but some guns shoot better with modified chokes. I would suggest that you try several different brands of slugs to see which one your gun likes best.

The stock on mine broke right where it mates to the receiver after considerable use and I have seen a few others that are operating under taped conditions. Probably the birch (i think) stock. Those can be replaced however. Never had any problems with the actual function and I've had both a 20 and a 12.
