Very nice first buck! I still remember my first deer (a doe) taken some 39 years ago, as well as most of the rest of them. I remember many of the misses, too.

Had the tenderloin for dinner on Sunday at my parents house. It was DELICIOUS. I am excited to have venison in the freezer again, it has been a slower than usual past few years for our whole group.

Default WA, I know the heart is a delicacy...

To some, but it it can be too tough or "gamey" for most folks! Our beagles are
"way spoiled", but they deserve it! Especially Jethro, as he is the first dog to
get to accompany me when I hunt big game!
