O/U Shotguns

I have been hunting now for a couple years (rabbit, Duck, Coyote, Moose) and I am looking at buying a new 12 gauge for Rabbit mostly. I'm very interested in the over under shotguns but can't justify spending a grand on a gun, yet alone 8 or 9. So I have been looking around and came across two guns that I'm interested in, that's the Stevens 512 Goldwing and the Stoeger Condor. Does anyone have any experience with either of these guns or have a suggestion of another over under 12 gauge in that price range. Thanks.

I have a Condor 410 and really like it for rabbits, grouse and pheasants. My son has a 20 gauge which he uses for skeet and does quite well with it in competition. For the money I don't think that you can find better O/U on the market today. Around here it is hard to find a good used O/U for less than seven or eight hundred which is about twice what a new Condor would cost you..

Out of curiosity, why not a pump or semi-auto shotgun?

I am leaning more towards the Condor. Thanks.

well I don't own a pump, I would think that it would take that much longer between shots. With rabbits, and my rabbit dog on it's tail, you don't have the time to pump and shoot. I own a semi and don't get me wrong, I do like it, I just simply like the look and idea of a double barrel. I will still be using my semi but I really want to try out the over under. I'm also into trap shooting.

^^^ Makes perfect sense. Good luck in your search.
