Night hunting for preadators. You don't need an automatic. It is one shot hunting. You can,t see there eyes when you are looking at their butts.
I went a different route. No new rifle. Remington Modell 1100 12 guage, 3 inch chamber, full choke and #4 buckshot. I believe they have 41 pellets of .22 cal size lead. Here is the real clincher. Push button red laser on the gun and 3rd generation night vision goggles. Put a remote call about 20 yards in front of you and stand in a shadow. When Wiley shows up push the button, bring the red dot up from behind him. When it gets on his shoulder pull the trigger. You shoot "from the hip" since the goggles won't let you sight down the barrel. Then calmly walk over and pick up dead coyote.
This method also works just wonderfully on hogs inside 40 yards with larger shot. On a partial moonlit night it looks like daylight out there. The only problem is that the night vision goggles are $3000! But a major cool toy!!
