That alone tells me that a lever gun, shotgun, or other platform is pretty much out as a 200 Yard shot will be considered "close" in a lot of the state. The terrain, game hunted, and type of game will dictate the caliber and platform in my opinion.

.270 WSM is very popular in AZ. I use a 25-06 and a .300 Win Mag throughout that state. I find the 25-06 to be a great class 2 game getter, deer/antelope, while the .300 is suited for elk, bear, and other game.

I just traded for a weatherby Vanguard in a weatherby 300 magnum can anyone tell me the ballistics for that round. The bdc up to 1000 yards. Is it comparable to what at 1000 yards a m118 762 NATO has a 408 inch drop at 1000 yds. Does anyone know where I can find than info on this particular round 300 weatherby magnum. Or can anyone who owns or shot one can give any info would be great. I have not studied this round or rifle. I have not shot the rifle yet but would like to know what everyone thinks of it. I traded a rugar m77 in 308 for the vanguard and 4 stripped ar15 lowers( no brand name). Did I mess up I wanted more power and distance than a 308 but how accurate is the vanguard 300 weatherby magnum?

I dunno bout the 300 wsm but I own a7 mm. remington magnum and its.plenty of gun for my area that I hunt. you can always google it that's how I found my rounds stats

May I suggest you download the Istrelok app, input all your known bullet data and it'll produce you a ballistics chart and also show you tens of reticles.
