Default mosin nagant for hogs?

I'm goin to pick one up for a cheap rifle to do some hunting with, I know the 7.62x54r round is big enough to take deer, what are you guys thoughts on takin hogs with it?

I bet those 203 grain soft points would wallop them.

People say it's about the same as a .308. WRONG. It's more comparable to a .30-06. In fact, it retains it's energy and velocity (with Milsurp ammo) BETTER than the .30-06 beyond approximately 400 yards.

Anything an '06 will kill, the mosin will kill just as dead. Keep in mind the '06 has taken (likely all species of) dangerous and large game on EVERY SINGLE CONTINENT IN THE WORLD.

Use it for hogs? No problem.

It should be great for hogs. Just be sure you are able to place the bullet in the right spot.
