marlin 336 30 30

Looking into buying a marlin 3030 looking into the 336 30 30 heard good reviews, but wanted to get input from yall. Basically looking for something simple and reliable to carry around in the truck for hog hunting and maybe some deer hunting. what do yall think

Design has been in continuous production over 100 years. Second most popular deer rifle in the US, only behind the Winchester 94. Well made, good pointing, can mount scope with no problems.

Leverlution ammo gave them a big boost in range.

98,

The Marlin Model 336 in 30-30 Cal. Is one of the best lever action rifles made.
I do not own one at the present but have in the past. They are of good quality, a good solid rifle and very reliable. If I were to go with a 30-30 lever gun it would be my first choice. Henry also makes one but more expensive.
Bottom Line! Great Choice!

That is a good price! And as much as I hate to say it WALLY WORLD is hard to beat when it comes to buying a standard model rifle or combination. I purchased my first new Model 336 30-30 when I was 18 while working at my friends gun shop as weapon cleaning boy there for two years after school! Wish I had it back!
That is great you are thinking about your son! You are to be commended!
They are the future of our second amendment!~

Wally World version may have plain hardwood stock, etc (instead of walnut) but store brand rifles still shoot well.

From what i have seen and read, its a very simple gun compared to the many moving parts in the winchester, plus the side ejection is nice compared to top ejection and getting hit with the cartridges

i love the walnut stock, yes the one at wal mart is the cheaper stock but they can get order the walnut stock i think in the price range of $400-425. thanks i firmly believe if we dont start now our ammendments may gone, i hate to say it.
