i use a leupold 1000. its not the best optics but i like the ease of use. its light weight very intuitive to use. works as a shortrange 4x i think monocle. seems to be very rugged.
other better optics models i had a hard time getting them to work right.
my suggestion go to a store that will let you try different models and lase everything you can. i found the leupold to give the best overall laser reading as in it returned a range on the largest variety of surfaces.
in the open you have to have a very very steady hand to get laser returns off objects at 600+ yards. i have to brace the device on a steady solid rest to get a return reading at long ranges. __________________
