Look then look again
 

I was doe hnting tonite and shot one. When I went to where she had been there was no blood, not blood spray behind where she had been standing. We have 2-4 inches of snow. So I decided to walk the direction that she had went, it was about 60 yards before I found any blood, it was a spot no bigger than a quarter, and she was laying about 2ft away. The shot was about as good as it gets as far as shot placement. Just wanted to share that with everybody.

I shot a nice sized doe last weekend with my 16ga using #1 buckshot. She moved as I pulled the trigger I hit her. When I got close I didn't see any blood at all so I flipped her over and found just a little on her head. When she moved she missed the cloud but took 3 pellets to the head and that was it. I guess a 30 caliber headshot is more then enough and non of the meat was damaged.

what gun? caliber? bullet? range? what did the autopsy reviel? please share

Blood spot the size of a quarter ? Did you find more blood where she was found? Lung shots usually Spray blood !

wow seldom ever heard of this and i have seen hundreds of big game animals shot(i was a big game guide for 9 years). the only time was once with the new at that time barnes x bullets. no expansion on the x bullet. what brand of bullet did you use? what was the size of the exit wound?
