Thx!
.308 is simply that,.308/1000'ths of an inch in diameter, but what you might not know is that handfulls of different calibers are also .308/1000ths in diameter but use different names to not confuse people, like 30-30 is actually .308,.300 savage is .308,30-06 is .308,300 win mag is .308,and tons more.

I emailed the DNR there about freal hogs and he said the people of Indiana DONT WANT to make a sport out of them! I thought he would be GLAD that I wanted to go there to kill some of thoes pests but NO! thats just being BACKWARDS IMO.
Other States like FL or GA or TX would luv someone to kill them but Indiana STRANGE!.

The Indiana DNR may not want to make shootin' feral hogs a sport, but I'll bet there are some citizens of IN that disagree.

If you want a bolt action rifle in handgun caliber check out the Ruger 77/44. It's chambered in .44 magnum. In a rifle the .44 magnum gains some "oomph" over being shot out of a revolver while being very gentle on the shoulder. Ruger used to make a semiauto carbine in .44 magnum and it's a dandy deer slayer (I have 2).
