And then came the discovery of poison-tipped arrows and spears. Not the fastest death, but efficient nonetheless. Look at the monitor lizard and kimodo dragon - they bite their prey and then follow it around for a few days until it dies of the infection caused by their bacteria-laden saliva.

The best slug for your smooth bore. I have take many deer with this round and it is an awesome killer.

I've had very good results with my rig for slugs. I use just a 11-87 SP with the screw in deer choke on a 26 inch barrel.My best slug has been the HV slugger from remington. I used the1 oz version for year but 2 years ago they change something in the powder ( I think) as they shot horrible at 100 yds and blew unbrunt powder out the bottom of the gun.Anyway the HV's grouped very well and have down deer well out past 100 yds.The best thing you could do is just buy all the different brands of slugs you can and try'em til you have your best one,Then buy the heck out of them so you have a couple years worth on hand.Blummer
