Same here, most shots are within 100yds, but now I live in a rifle county so I get to bow hunt in Sept. /Oct. , rifle hunt in Nov., and muzzleload or bow hunt in Dec.. Of course I have a heating oil business, so I really don't get to do any of this very often...

Never seen much use for a bow and flinging stick at deer. I would rather just shot them in the dam face.

Actually, for hunting that would be a bad idea since it would boost pressure thereby increasing velocity and penetration...why is this bad you might ask? Because as we have all learned recently:

Its like anything in physics the faster you come to a stop the more physical power there is.

Wouldn't slugs be to slow and not dangerous enough to stop a deer?

I mean all they gotta do is find a salt lick and roll around in it and the slug is gone.

It is amazing how mankind even survived. Hunting bison, elk, moose, caibou, deer with spears and slow moving arrows that never went all the way through. MMM......I wonder....

You've never seen 10,000 BC I take it then? It took like a bajillion of them to kill one elephant-thingie.
