Hunting In Florida : Need Help!
Me and my friends are interested in going Turkey Hunting around the Central Fla area. Does anyone know where would be the best place to go for beginners?

I grew up in Sumter County, about 50 miles west of Orlando.
There are 4 wildlife management areas you should check out:
Lake Panasofkee & Half Moon in the north end of Sumter County
Jumper Creek in the central part
Richloam (especially the Baird unit) in the southern section.

Check out Cecil Webb management area also, I think that's Charlotte County.

These are public hunting areas. However, Turkey season is closed in FL for spring 2012. Go spend some time scouting and learning the areas for next spring.
If you book a Turkey hunt through an outfitter, expect to pay $500 to $1500.

I know the Turkey season is over. What about Hog? I hear its open all year round. Is there any place you recomend?

If you can throw a baseball and not hit a neighbor's house there will be hogs!
Best to find private land. Get permission, which should be easy.

Hogs are everywhere.. Hell some people will let you shoot them on there property for free If ya ask..

Outside of regular fall hunting seasons, no hog hunting on public land. Start asking landowners for permission.
