There is a famous video of a gent who put on some scent (Think it was Elk) and a buck showed up & proceeded to beat the hell out of the guy for about 5-10 minutes.

The guy's wife filmed the whole thing. Good thing and Elk didn't show up - if Deer kicked his ass, Elk would have killed him.

Fatal hunting accidents occur at a rate of 80 to 90 persons per year.
Lightning caused 3,696 deaths were recorded in the U.S. between 1959 and 2003 that averages out to 84 per year.

SO its pretty safe to say you have as good of chance to be killed in a hunting accident then hit and killed by lightning!

And how many got killed driving to/from their hunting spots?

Kinda sorta on topic........took 3 days off to bowhunt. On the way to one spot a wreck. One smashed dead, the other close to it. Yeah, I got an eye full.
Next day I go to a different county (different direction) and come up on another fresh splatter.
WTH?
Told the old lady on the 3rd day I was keeping my fat happy arse at home.

BTW idiots are everywhere. They kill hunters and non hunters all over the place (and sometimes in the field).

And the most dangerous ones also breed and or vote.

Pleasant dreams all
