Default Hunter mistakes man for deer

Another sad fact of hunting.

But shooting the man twice?

That is why I stopped hunting. I did not have access to private land and there were too many idiots. A guy I worked with had his horse shot out from under him on his own land by "hunters" trespassing. They went to jail. The land was posted because shots had hit his house.I have seen some really stupid stuff out there. I do remember one shooting where one guy shot his hunting partner out of a tree. I have yet to see a deer in a tree. It turned out the dead hunter was having sex with the shooter wife and he found out about it.

I think there has to be more to the story.

Hunter was legally blind? Hunter having affair with victims wife? Idk just don't add up too me.

The chances of being shot while hunting in America ranks slightly below being struck by lightning. The chances of being shot at your ATM is greater. The media and public never misses a chance to point out the dangers of firearms. The animal rights people actually sees a wounded hunter as a victory. Another view on the "Dangers" of hunting.

Dumb Azz! To shoot at anything you cannot visually identify is just stupid. He should have a lifetime revocation of his hunting license. A guy I know shot his father in-law's cow while deer hunting on daddy's land. Yup, he is a dumb azz too.

About 40 years ago i was a volunteer on a rescue squad in southern MD. First day of deer season we had two calls where hunters were negligently shot by other hunters. Only shotguns and slugs are legal during deer season in southern MD. One of those hunters died enroute to the hospital, the other survived. The idiot who shot the second hunter approached him after the shot and then ran away. The prosecutor went after the guy who killed the hunter with a vengeance. He went to Jessup prison for 25 years.

This has happened for many many years. This is why hunters first were required to wear red and it was changed to make them wear blaze orange. Really not much different then people killing others with cars. Stupid people can be found everywhere.
