Sometimes light has an odd effect on what we "think" we see. The real problem is that so called hunters fail to identify the target, just shoot at a patch of color.

There are a million lame excuses for poor hunter judgment, although, none of them are legitimate.

But it does happen. Call it "buck fever", call it anxiety, call it gross stupidity or even attempted murder, but it does happen. Some people in the woods with gun are NOT HUNTERS. They just want to shoot something and they do.
