Hornady SST Slugs

What do you guys think about the Hornady SST slugs? With a 12 ga 300 gr slug goin 2000 fps with 1800 ft lbs/energy you could have one gun for small game to a Grizzly. Its a .458 Socom/ 50 Beowulf/ 450 Bushy in your favorite slug barreled 12 ga. 20 ga is a 250 gr goin 1800 fps with 1200 ft lbs/ energy.
Hornady is really, to me anyway, comin out on top as the best ammunition/ reloading manufacturing co. out there. Their ideas are amazing, though when I was around 10 or so I too thought, "Why not make bullets with a soft, flexible tip to put in a tubular magazine and make a lever or pump .223, .308 (which they did), or 30-06?" Now shotgun slugs are as far shooting as a 450 Bushmaster. On the Hornady site they list a 150 yard zero, at which 200 yards the slug only drops 8 or so inches for the 12 gauge. And 2.4 and 2.7 inches high at 50 and 100 yards, respectively for the 12 ga. load.
 Thoughts?

I think Hornady has been making some great products, especially here recently. I don't have any experience with their slugs but I wouldn't hesitate to give them a try. I do have personal experience loading their 150gr SSTs for my 30-06 and I was very pleased. I also have loaded their XTP in 158gr for my 357 and was equally happy with the results.

I too think Hornady has come out with some good quality stuff, I've been wanting to try their bullets for about a year or two now and I might try them this year.
