Great day for a Grouse hunt here in Minnesota. Flushed one, shot him down.......then proceeded to look for it in the thicket (ouch)

Had to give up in this one. Shame too, I made a good shot and dropped the sucker

Loved every minute if it tho- did about 11 miles in State Hunter Walking trails

Don't feel bad you are not the only one to get skinned up retrieving game. I have shot deer that have ran into thick brush. I almost lost the deer because I was tracking my own blood. That is why I want a "cannon" to shoot deer with. The deer can't run into heavy cover when the exit wound takes out his entire shoulder.
