What was so outrageous about what I said? I didn't challenge anyone, and what I said was pretty open ended. "as accurate as a centerfire" is honestly pretty vague even though I wasn't trying to be deceiving. The SST's are bullets inside a shotgun shell. Toss in a rifled barrel and what you end up with is a large bore rifle.

Don't put words in my mouth

I've grown very fond of Nosler Partitions for deer and elk specifically the .284 160 grain from my 7mm rem mag.
Varmints I usually purchase the Ballistic tips for my 22-250.

Sorry. That wasn't aimed at you, I knew you were joking and I enjoy your posts. And your ron Swanson avatar.

Have had great luck with Hornady sst 165 gr. My choice in hand loaded deer rounds in my 300 WM. I haven't been able to match the performance of factory Norma 180 grn in my 308 Norma mag. Lord knows Ive tried but just can't get my Recipie just right... Well not yet anyway. Still trying

In past hunting seasons I have used a 30/06 to hunt fields and a shotgun slug to hunt brush. This year I am going to hunt with a Mosin-Nagant. The Brown Bear 203 gr loads are cheap and pack a punch. Feral hogs are no longer considered game animals, bear season runs concurrent with deer season for the first time ever and deer had a great reproductive season due to the huge acorn crop we had last year. The Mosin-Nagant should easily handle the mixed bag. Over the past 18 months my health has went downhill. For the first time ever I will be hunting from a 4 wheeler with a handicapped permit. If I throw the mosin off the 4 wheeler it will sting but not as bad as trashing my 30/06.
