I have killed a lot of Coyotes with the 223/5.56 55gr round from an AR.

But my favorite caliber and ammunition choices for Coyotes are these two:
6.5 Grendel 95gr. Hornady V-Max From a Sabre Defence Industries 18" Var-Comp AR or
243 Winchester 75gr. Hornady V-Max From a Sako Forrester Varmint Bolt Action

Only round I've used with it being an instant kill is an 87gr V-max out of a Remington 770 chambered in .243. So I guess that makes it my favourite round.

(Hand load)

My 22 magnum sure does some damage if you don't hit where you want. A little inconvenient. Still an awesome little round

Born to Hunt,

My Sako has sported a Leupold 3.5 X 10 Tactical Scope for many years. I like it because I can crank it down for closer shots or close in dim light and I have the 10X for longer shots or taking closer looks and longer range shots. It also has the towers for quick adjustment for yardage corrections. Where I hunt I do not need more power since 400 yards is about the max. It also has a duplex reticle so I can see it in dimmer light. The finer cross hairs all but disappear when the light gets dim. But there are other lesser expensive good quality scopes that will do you well for what you want. For example Nikon makes great scopes also. I prefer scopes with the 30MM Scope Tube and at least 44 MM Objective Lens. Most of my other scopes are 50MM Obj. They let in more light.

Sniper03,
Awesome man. I have a tikka t3 lite ss in 270 and with a vortex diamondback 4-12x40AO. That scope is AMAZING. only $300. I'm really wanting to get another 243. They are freakin sweet
