Default Father and Son Camping trip.

My son and I just got back from our camping trip. It was just an overnighter. But it was great for us to just have time together. He is going to be 14 in October. He has to go back to school tomorrow. My wife has been sick for the whole summer. I have been working to much. We decided to go the the uncompagre national forest. As we arrived we saw that there was a fire ban. Bummer so much for hot dogs and marshmallows. We got to the lake. It was almost empty. We didnt even bother fishing. We were really dissapointed. But then we got out the bb guns. We both shoot real guns. We havent shot bbs in a long time. We set out a bunch of plastic water bottles and empty pop cans. We filled the bottles back up with watewr and capped them. What a blast. We spent about two hours last night. And we went back to it again this morning. BB guns saved the trip. We had a blast.

When our sons were in their early teens, a good friend and I used to take them out for a weekend, and hike a section of the Appalachian Trail. We had a ball. The boys now have teens of their own, and their sons are being introduced to the AT.

Sounds like you had a great trip.

Good job Pop ! I remember those camping trips with the kids. Wish I would have made time for more of them.

It was too funny to watch him shoot his. He is 6'1". He was shooting one of those really little red ryders. I bought it for him when he was like 4. His head is as big as the whole stock. I ended up giving him my gammo rifle. It is one of those break barrel actions. I was shooting one of those American Classic single shot pistols. I think a shopping trip is in order. I know the new ones will rival a 22lr.

Sound like a great time! A bb gun is a great thing to have on any camping trip! I have been looking a the faster type bb/pellet guns myself. My wife and son's birthday is coming up next month. My wife would not enjoy the gun as much as the boy would, he will be 10.

I think I am going to look at the whisper line. I think that would be great for a backyard range without pissing off the neighbors.

Great stuff!!

The guns have saved more than one camping trip for me and the kids. Pouring rain, go to the range. Its one of the reasons my kids love guns.

a lot of these new air rifles get speeds and accuracy that beat the .22 lr.
