There ya go. While spike deer is usualy tender, it depends. If they had a rough year, they may be like an old doe.

Better to let the spike go and look for a two or three point, if ya want meat quality.

BTW I have hunted deer and elk in central Idaho for 49 years. I quit hunting horns about 1980. I hunt for meat these days. I love good venision.
