I know we have at least one pest control engineer here. I normally death trap the mice and other rodents. I will shoot a feral cat if it is a problem. Coon acting out of sorts in the middle of the day...dead. But I saw something today I never want to see again and I ask all of you good folk to determine the fate of what I saw.
Muskrat in my pond!!

In PA you have to have a furbearers license to hunt or trap muskrats. And a set season to do so in. Not telling you what to do on your own property, but check your game laws and go from there. Live trapping should be fine, if you go the other route.....

Killing a muskrat would be nothing less than murder of an innocent animal.
Since you live outside of town, I say go for it and wish I could be there to watch. |

We have seasons on fur bearing animals also, but when they become a pest...

Send it to muskrat heaven along with any opossums you might encounter. If you all shot just 100 opossums each for me, the world would be a better place. __________________ God, Family, Guns, in that order. |

I doubt that muskrat tastes like Nutria. But, I do have one (at least). I set the live trap out with some apples. Personally, I'd rather live trap it and let it go somewhere around the lake at the end of my driveway. We do have laws regarding them (not protected, but seasons and trap regs) that we here always take pride in following. But, problem critters are problem critters. If that little effer is allowed free reign in the dam... __________________ From C3Shooter:
