To catch them in the act means you find tracks around the kill. Then when you see the coyote come back you kill it.[/QUOTE]

Fair enough, I can accept that, i didn't look at it that way before.

I have hunted for 43 years. Never saw coyotes for the first 20 years or herd of them this said of the mississippi. The last 23 years they have increase more than any other game that has been legaly reintroduced into areas. Except maybe turkey. Coyotes have done it all on there own. See one kill it if you can.

Why are we killing coyotes, wolves, ect?
Here's the real simple answer. We are the apex predator and manager of this world. Whether it be an elk herd in Montana or a flock of sheep in Iowa, we want to manage the populations as we see fit, and wolves and coyotes don't like to follow our lead. So we kill them.

the problem with wolves that are that in most areas like wisconsin they are raised partially in captivity and then turned loose. wolves are extremely intelligent social creatures. the more intelligent a animal is the more their behaviour is determined by learning rather than instinct.

the social structure of a natural wolf pack has rules kind of like our civilized society. when that tructure is ripped away by less than intelligent and oh so caring naturalists the wolf pack devolves into a mindless mob. and thats what we have in states like wisconsin.

here wolf packs have been artificially introduced without the social structure learned from other wolves. they are literally wiping the deer herds in the northern part of this state out of existance. here they tend to kill whenever they feel like it often leaving entire carcasses just nibbled on cuz the wolves wanted a light snack.

in yellowstone wolves existed aunatural and human raise wolves were introduced to the packs and kept in line by natural wolf packs. thats why you dont see the decimation of prey animals there like you do in almost every other location.

im for eradicating wolves everywhere they have been artificially introduced where there is no "wolf society" to control mob behaviour

Don't forget the bears. They are OBVIOUSLY overpopulated for the modern U.S. and keep wandering into towns in search of garbage to munch. The funny clip about the texting guy almost walking into a bear the other day wouldn't have been so funny if it had ended with the bear eating his liver on camera. Animals that present a danger to humans, pets, livestock, and the very existance of populations of other animals need to be managed. The photo ops of bears don't justify the loss of even one human life to a horrible crunching death IMO.

I wouldn't hate it if some fenced in "preserves" or maybe islands were used as "habitat" for such dangerous animals, but the animals should be contained and human interaction VERY limited.
