coyote calls
What kind of calls do you guys use, mouth or electonic, I have a flextone mimic hd, I use this one for deer, crow, coyotes, etc... On the lanyard I have a ki yi, a howler, a fawn in distress, a coyote hooker, a estrous howler, a locator, and a few of these are multiple use distress calls, works for me, I also use a rivers edge quiver critter.

I use a fox pro wildfire 2 and a whole assortment of mouth calls. I have yet to find a howler on a E Caller that satisfied me. I also use the quiver critter and have had great results with it. Had a fox run in and snatch the rabbit off its pedestal one night! Been thinking about trying the fox jack decoy out too, would be nice to be able to control the decoy and call on one remote.

Electric is great for a few reasons. Minimal movement because you are only pushing buttons. My set ups have little cover so the less we move the better chance we can get some takers. Pup howls or screams then we go into the dinner bell calls. When cover is not an issue we will do both electric and mouth. Throws the dogs into a frenzy and they scream into you. Quiver critter or a wounded woody works great to keep eyes off of you. Another trick that we did was tie fishing line to a bush right next to your decoy and start tugging on it when the dog gets eyes on it. Makes it look like a struggle and they can't run any faster to see what's going on.

A Rabbit distress and a simple sqeeker to freeze them for a second work well in NH. You'll get quite a few Red and Grey Fox coming in also. The majority of shots are less then 75 yards. That is fine in the Southern part of the state that is rimfire only. Calling in a Fisher can be interesting. They are nasty creatures and will not back down from a fight.

I've always wanted to know if the iKitty app on the iphone would work; you can set it to a loop of distressed kitten mews. I've got to think the people at apple would appreciate a picture with that story.

I've also had good luck with just feathers tied to a dowel rod or dog toys work fairly well too, pretty much anything that moves or waves in the breeze combined with calling sequences in my spot seems to get the attention of the dogs, then boom says the 223 loaded with hornady superformance varmint.
