Default bird hunting

Does anyone else go trap shooting the day before they go bird hunting?

I usually do skeet/trap shooting after bird hunting as a way to spend the rest of the day with my cousins. As a matter of fact everytime after I go hunting with my cousins we always do shooting after we're done, whether it be trap, skeet, rifle, or pistol shooting.

bear,
Good Idea!
Several years back I use to raise English Setter bird dogs for quail and pheasant! And hunted at least twice a week including most Saturdays. We practiced at the beginning of each season prior to season coming in by going to the Gun Club and shooting skeet at least once per week. It is about the closest thing to quail hunting as you can get for good training and getting your leads and timing back. Obviously we also shot some trap at the club and by our small thrower but not as much as on the skeet field. Makes the quail flight seem slower and easier to hit.
It is a very good idea you mentioned!
