Thanks for the info. I have always wanted to hunt in Alaska but I don't think I could justify the price (that would be a lot of new guns I could buy insted. ) when I could just sit on the back porch at my grandparents house and shoot a 10 point white tail deer if I wanted to. (They feed them and have a trail camera set up to take pictures of them every night so I don't think I could ever shoot one, even if they said it was ok.)

I could not afford the 375 h&H the gun or the ammo , let alone paying off a hand full of africans , maybe they can throw in a few f/a ak's in a package deal?

I dont hunt really but I can say That Canadian geese , opossums , squirrels and buzzards do not agree with getting shot with a 7 rem mag.
can we say overkill ?

Well when people big game hunt in Africa you don’t just shoot an elephant any old place, pull the ivory out and pat yourself on the back. You get to keep the hide after it is processed through customs and pick it up at an authorized receiver here in the USA. The meat goes to the local village whose land the hunt took place on. The government keeps the ivory usually.

As far as sitting on your family’s porch and just shooting deer, that is called poaching usually unless you have all the licenses, permits, and are following the letter of the law for hunting in whatever state you are in.

If you’re just a kid who wants to shoot big things, I’d suggest a video game. If you can’t afford to go to Alaska to shoot something big you will never afford to go to Africa to do it. Though I wouldn’t suggest going to Alaska and playing Charlton Heston in Mountain Men …

I may be wrong but i think here in nc , if you live in the poverty level you dont need a hunting or fishing license . WFT
