Best caliber for P-Dogs
Okay, if you have TWO caliber rifles to shoot prairie dogs with, which would it be? You can only vote for one, but give me your top two choices.

Can we add .458SOCOM to that list? 
Seriously though I haven't shot any of those other than the .223 so I have no idea how they perform. My guess would be a fast, flat shooting bullet to get out and hit them at distances quickly.
That or I would like to use artillery

I have never shot P-Dogs, but am thinking my Fireball out to 100 yards and my Swift for longer range, uh, "acrobatics"...

.221 fireball, but only if you reload. That is a great, flat shooting round that has awesome barrel life, great accuracy and completely devastating on small animals.
A silenced .221 Fireball would be highly effective in a SHTF hunting situation on small game.

.17 HMR to 200 yards, .220 Swift to where the curvature of the earth shileds them. Also works well for groundhogs here in VA (we have a noticeable shortage of Praire Rats here)

I have 100 rounds loaded now with several charge weights and two powders. Still haven't shot my "new" XP-100 for groups or over the chronograph. It snowed again last night. It's the middle of April and I still can't get a break in the weather.

I think the .204 Ruger is just about perfect for prairie dogs. It shoots as flat as the .220 Swift and has so little recoil that you can watch the results of the shot. My 2nd choice is a well tuned AR in .223.

My favorites are the 223 and the 6.5 Grendel
Dog200! OMG! 458 SOCM "What Prairie Dog!!!!!!" With the 100 yard ballistics being close to the 45-70 must be some Mean A-- Dogs your hunting! LOL!

The creator of the 458, Marty Ter Weeme, has customers that shoot the 458 for distance and he has made all sorts of custom sights. He has one customer that lobs the 458 out past 700yds and hitting a 2'x2' steel plate.  The sights look like miniaturized artillery sights. So if the dogs were out beyond 100yds I guess a 458 could be used, kind of like lobbing artillery on them.
