Default about to get new gun...

Sooo, thinking about getting a Browning BAR in .308 calibur... did a little bit of research on this gun, and talked to some people.. so far no negative things about it.. anybody have any experience, or maybe comments about it?

When I was gunsmithing I never had to work on hardly any of the BAR's. Of course they were never as popular as the Remingtons. But keep in mind that no civilian auto is as reliable as a manual action, especially a bolt action.

The BAR is a fine hunting rifle. Its' price tag is what scares some folks. It is a very accurate platform, reliable also. Just keep it maintained and it will outlast you.

Well, i already have a Savage 111 in 7 mm rem mag... magnificent gun. Now im interested in the Browning BAR safari in .308... ive looked at a couple of places, and yes, they are a bit pricey... but everyone says they are one of the most accurate amazing guns that they know of...
